Balaganapathi Devarakonda has been teaching Philosophy since past two decades. He has published widely on various aspects of Indian philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy and Buddhism. His publications include, Philosophical Doctrines of Andhakas: Exploring Early Buddhist Sects of Andhra (2020, Springer Briefs in Religious Studies series), Revisiting Dana: A responseto Eurocentric Approaches (2020), Hinduism in Thailand: Its presence and Absence (2018), Role of Guru as an interpreter of Dharma (2017), Orientalist and Nationalist Writings of Indian Philosophy (2014) and History of Indian Philosophy: Analysis of Contemporary understanding of the classical through colonial (2012). South Asia Press is bringing out a new edition of Leviathan of Thomas Hobbes with a detailed introduction of Prof. Bala.
He is serving as the Regional Coordinator (India) Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, Washington DC (CRVP); an Adjust member of American Philosophical Practitioners Association (APPA), New York (USA); and is a member of International Association for the Philosophy of Humor (IAPH); International Society for Philosophers (ISP) and Folklore Society for South Indian Languages (FOSSILS).
Balaganapathi Devarakonda is presently a member of Research Project Committee of Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi. He is a Chancellor’s nominee for the Board of Management of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (2018-2020). He is a Member of the Governing Body of Maitreyi College, New Delhi (2018-2020) and the Governing Body of Bhagini Nivedita College, New Delhi (2020-2021).He was a Member of the Committee constituted by UGC, New Delhi for drafting ‘Learning Outcomes based Curriculum Framework’ (LOCF) for Philosophy (2018). He was the Chairman of the Governing Body of Maitreyi College, New Delhi (2019-2020). He was a member of the Review committee of Indian council of Philosophical Research constituted by MHRD, Government of India (2018). He was the Chief Advisor, Centre for Ethics and Values, Ramanujan College, New Delhi (2016-18)
